Some tips for yall

20 Feb

Now, before I forgot let’s have a note-to-self and also to my 4 other friends who are going to korea this march. Cewaahh. If you’re not planning on going to korea any time soon, don’t waste your time reading this. Seriously. Fizzy unnie, here you go. :p

  1. As mentioned, if you wanna buy souvenirs, buy it at winter sonata streets because it’s cheaper and u can get more discounts compare to buying it at Namdaemun. And it helps if you can speak hangul cos the ahjumma at winter sonata streets don’t know how to speak in english. And at Namdaemun, there’re plenty of souvenir shops, I think that’s why they can’t lower the price too much. Maybe it’s me who didn’t go to the right shop at Namdaemun. Well, you can try your luck if you want. Maybe if you wanna buy 5 souvenirs. Buy 3 at Winter Sonata streets and 2 at Namdaemun. They only differ in 1,000 won or 2,000. ;)
  2. If you got to Itaewon, go find Body Shop and walk along the streets to your left (after you got out from Body Shop). You will pass by three or four cafes, just walk straight and you will find a handbag shop where all the handbags cost only 13,000 won each. That is rm39. It’s some kind of factory outlet handbag shop like that la. I bought two from that shop and ask for discounts but I failed. Maybe if I buy 5 or 10, I’ll get the discounts. :p Here’s a picture of The Body Shop I’m talking about.
  3. Namdaemun! It’s located right next to Myeongdong. My travel agent gave me only 3 hours and a half at both places. Mane cukup!!!!!! I know. So, if your travel agent do the same to you, I suggest you spend like 45 minutes at Namdaemun to buy some brooches and finish your souvenirs hunting cos there’s nothing really at Namdaemun. They sell lots of cloth macam dekat pasar tu, you know. Tak campur lagi if you get lost at Namdaemun cos it’s super big.
  4. Myeongdong! Myeongdong is way way better than Namdaemun cos it’s our place you know. If you want to buy cheap k-pop album, from Namdaemun, walk straight and be alert to the shops at your right. You will definitely know it’s a k-pop shop. They will play the latest songs out loud and you will know lah. I think I spend more than half an hour there, bad mistake. List what CD you want and just buy them. There’s not much of k-pop goodies there. It’s really2 hard to find the original k-pop goodies. You can find the fake one like everywhere. Haha. I don’t know what the CD price depends on but it differs from one to another. Like SHINee album I bought, it cost me only 12,000 won. Other CD cost around that. Some advice, list the price you get buying them at Malaysia and compare it with the price over there. That’s how I do it and I didn’t get deceived.
  5. Myeongdong again. Myeongdong is super big too. So, you don’t want to waste your time trying cloth etc. Just buy them. We got to go to only quarter of Myeongdong. Such a waste. And there’s this shop near to the CD shop I told you about. Not that near la tapi dekat la jugak. Everything in it is only 10,000 won. And they got like a lot of handbags. The one you saw online that cost you rm80 tu kan, ala like Chanel imitation punya tu, ha they have a lot of handbags like that. But the color is very limited la. Unlike the one at Itaewon tu kan. That one got many many choices.
  6. And if you’re a SUJU and SNSD fans, you might want to go to SPAO (click here) shop at Myeongdong. Get yourself a SUJU tshirt or SNSD sweater.
  7. If you’ve been using products from Skin Food, Face Shop, and Etude House, you might want to shop there cos it’s super super cheap. I’ve been eyeing this blusher from Etude House, RM36. It only cost me 8,000 won (RM24) there. My sister borong habis lah barang from those three shops. Cukup satu set make-up dia beli.
  8. Oh Dongdaemun, when I went there, the kedai kain like in the drama Cinderella Man tu kan, tutup. So, we only got to shop at dotta and other kedai near them. Our travel agent drop us in front of dotta, so, we spend most of our time in dotta which kind of wasting time cos the clothes are expensive. You better wandering around the shops around dotta. The pasar around that area macam murah sikit kot. Go to the pasar at dotta’s left and right. There’s nothing at the pasar at the front of dotta. Level 5, dotta, there’re two souvenir shop that sells fake k-pop merchandise. You can look around if you insist. Se Kwon oppa said that the clothes at dotta is a bit expensive. So, I suggest you just buy a few. But if you bring like RM5k for shopping, what the hell kan. lol
  9. My friend from the same traveler agent said that Forever 21 over there was on sale and it’s darn cheap. I didn’t get to shop there, tak jumpa pun the kedai tu. So, just try go there.
  10. Aside from shopping, don’t forget to bring your own compass nak cari arah kiblat kan. ;)
  11. If you got like a month to prepare for you trip kan, just hafal how to ask harga in hangul and of course the price. Like how to say 5,000 won in hangul. All the numbering la. Travel agent will teach you how to ask for discounts in hangul later. Oh most of the people at Itaewon and Myeongdong know how to speak in english, so, no worries shopping there.
  12. Oh if you’re not tired after dinner, you can always get a cab to go anywhere you want. I should have done that. Huuuu. Just show your address to the cab driver and they will take you there.

If you want to know more, just ask me or if you’ve been to korea and got some tips, share with me sebab I macam nak pergi lagi je next month. :)

AS IFFFF!! Hahahha.
