I just wanna share this. I’ve been looping this song over and over again since I knew about it which was nearly a month ago. It’s from their latest album but they don’t have an MV yet.

This is good enough.

I knew i got something to blog about after BOF After 5 years thingy but somehow i forgot all about it after the last exam. And now it got to my mind. I was stalking google-ing for something last week and i bumped into this.

This is the cover for Zee Avi’s first album. I know it’s a bit too late to blog about but what the hell.

Zee Avi or formerly known as KokoKaina, was discovered through You Tube by some guy from Brushfire Records that’s based in United States. This independent artist was famous in Malaysia as KokoKaina but not that famous that we got to listen to her on the radio or TV. Anyway, she made tones of videos of her singing her own songs and upload it on You Tube like everybody else years ago. And the next thing she knows, she’s on the plane from Malaysia to LA to record an album. How cool is that?

A friend once introduced her to me about a year ago but i didn’t like her singing that much even though i never really went to any of her show. It’s too pitchy and all. But, now she’s improved. I gotta say, she’s better now. All that pitchy thingy that people kept complaining about is all gone especially if you watch her first ever official music video. If you like Colbie Caillat, Norah Jones, Yuna, and such, you’ll love her. I like her “I Am Me Once More” & “Kantoi”.

And now, she’s busy with her tour around the States. Her debut album came out on 19th May in the States and on 27th May in Malaysia. That is so like effing cool oke. Tour around the States?? Debut album coming out?? That is like a dream come true for all Malaysian singer. She’s one lucky girl. Not many talented people around Malaysia got that kind of spotlight. Some just stay in Malaysia making tones of videos and own EP but only got to be reviewed in some kind of music magazine and that’s considered good enough. But this girl, she’s on her way to conquer the world and she’s just 23! What more can you ask if you got that??

If you ask me, i think she’s gonna be famous in the US first and later on in Malaysia. And people will be like “Eh she’s Malaysian la. How come we never heard of her before weyh? “. Hahah. That’s what i think la for me for you for me. Hahaha.

I have been listening to “Yuna – Rocket” over and over and overrr again! since i got back from class at 2pm kott. and now its 4pm! haihh. wish i hav the mp3 version so that i dont have to depend on the undependable myspace player just to hear the song. nk dgr smpai muak haha. Its not that i just found out about the song. it just that i always got this moment where i wanna listen to smooth song like the cardigan’s, corrine bailey rae’s, norah jones’s, yuna’s, tresspasser william’s, estrella’s,  sarah mclachlan’s, and so many many more. me Love ‘em!

Oh oh last night was..not bad. just like what i expected. we went out after my capoeira thing. like 1130 or so. and my movie starts at 1150! haha. tkpe selambe. right when i put my butt on the chair beside a woman with a baby, the movie starts. heh3. not too late after all. Hancock bes oke! it got so many action and thats why we go to the cinema right? nice nice movie. but i hav to admit that “I Am Legend” is way better than Hancock. hehe. enough about the movie. go watch it yourself if you wanna knw. dont listen to people’s review. review it yourself. And oh we took some awesome pics. *d’uh! as usual~ *

After the movie, i whisper in the air to the peeps to go to william for late night supper. butttt none of them really wanna go. most of them were our junior. i bet they’ve never been there. kott. ntah. and some were our senior. so we end up lepaking at the usual – p9. hurm better something than nothing erh.
